The Buckeyes’ third national championship certainly was a charm—NCAA Coach of the Year Woody Hayes led OSU to a Rose Bowl victory over Oregon for a season record of 9-1. The Buckeyes’ season start was rocky—they lost to TCU in the opener, but went on to win all remaining 9 games, a feat unmatched in Ohio State history before or since. The Buckeyes snagged top spot in FWAA’s year-end poll, making it national title #3 for the school, and #2 for Coach Hayes. Rep one of the Buckeyes’ best teams in true 50s fashion. Pay homage.
