Sunday, April 25th, 1976 marked the third and final game of a weekend series between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers. The game would take on greater significance than breaking the series tie when in the bottom of the fourth two protesters raced onto the field of Dodgers Stadium, spread out the American flag and immediately began drenching it in lighter fluid. Cubs center fielder, Rick Monday, playing in his 11th major league season and fifth as a Cub, noticed the two, and before either could get a match to spark the flag, he swooped in, seized it, and carried it to safety in what instantly became the greatest play in baseball history.

After the game, Monday remarked, "If you're going to burn the flag, don't do it around me. I've been to too many veterans' hospitals and seen too many broken bodies of guys who tried to protect it.”

"I live in Colorado, but I have never been much of a football fan. That being said, while I was parusing the greatful dead shirts, I saw this design and the Coloradan in me couldn't refuse. Imo, this is the best NFLxGreatful Dead crossover shirt from the collection. I love Blucifer, and I love the overall style. The shirt is super soft, and the print texture feels perfect. It's not stiff and moves with the shirt, and the coloring feels baked into the fabric rather than pasted on top, if that makes sense. I am not worried AT ALL about flaking (which some other shirts from this brand have that issue, but not this one). I love this shirt so much, and I love to show it off. Again, not a football stan or anything, but this shirt is great all on its own!!!"

"Need to specify in the product description that the shirt color is Ash and not White as it appears in the small photograph on a cellphone. Very apparent when the shirt arrived, even mentioned Ash twice on the product label. Nice packaging and very prompt delivery. Love the Nolan Ryan graphic!"
