Ohio State’s fight song “Across the Field” was written in 1915 by student William A. Dougherty, Jr., 12 years after school song “Carmen Ohio.” While “Carmen Ohio” embodies all the affection Buckeyes have for their alma mater, Dougherty Jr. felt it didn’t hit the notes necessary to amp up the Scarlet and Gray before stomping the gridiron, hence the addition of the now-classic “Across the Field” to the catalogue.

The song has proven so popular it’s been co-opted in differing forms by a range of schools. But despite its widespread acclaim, the song remains a Buckeye original. Measure your natural waistline by placing the tape around the narrowest part of your torso, typically just above your belly button.

For accurate garment length, measure from the top of your shoulder down to where you want the hem to fall.
Sleeve Measurement
Start at the center of the back of your neck, run the tape across your shoulder, and down to your wrist with arm straight for a full sleeve measurement.
