Rep the birthplace of seven presidents with our super-soft 17th State tee and show the world your pride for the Buckeye state. Despite its place in America’s heartland, Ohio’s admission into the Union had a complicated history. Although the US House of Representatives approved the state’s petition to join the Union on February 19th, 1803, they did not manage ratify the state’s constitution, a small technicality on the path towards statehood. Some 150 years later, in 1953, the House corrected the snafu and granted Ohio retroactive statehood with an admission date of March 1st, 1803. Pay homage to the small missteps of history—and your favorite state.
