The Cleveland Cavaliers’ sixth season proved to be one full of firsts. After years spent building a robust roster, the 1975-76 Cavaliers posted the franchise’s first winning season and netted a trip to the playoffs, another first.
And, as you know, the magical run turned miraculous in game seven of the Conference Semifinals, when, all tied in the final seconds, the Cavaliers landed the deciding layup to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The season became the first in back-to-back-to-back playoff runs that captivated Cleveland, which couldn’t have come at a better time, as the Browns and Indians were suffering post-season droughts. Pay homage.
