February 9th, 1992: the stage was set for a comeback of epic proportions.
After his HIV diagnosis in 1991 and emotional exit from the league, Magic Johnson made a sentimental return to the hardwood for the 1992 All-Star Game, snagging MVP along the way. With the likes of Isiah Thomas, Patrick Ewing, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson on the court, the East-West showdown of 1992 was arguably the most talent-packed All-Star Game ever. The night ended with an unbelievable three-pointer from Johnson, who won the night for the West, and ended his storied career on an epic high. They don’t make ‘em like they used to—and we’ve got the tee to prove it.
