The City of Pittsburgh has many nicknames, but "City of Champions" seems the most fitting, especially in the 1970s when the name was coined. In that prolific decade, Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell led the Pirates to two of their five World Series, the Steelers' "Steel Curtain" won four Super Bowls, and a 12-0 Pitt team won a national championship behind Heisman winner Tony Dorsett. Add the Penguins' Stanley Cup dominance in the early '90s, and you’ve got a city with as strong a sporting tradition as any in the country.
