    The Story
From 1929 until 1994, Chicago Stadium (or "The Madhouse on Madison") was the home of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks. Before the team moved to the new United Center in 1994, the '93 - '94 NHL season bore the moniker "Remember the Roar" in Chicago. One of the league's original six "old barns," Chicago Stadium's triple-tiered boxy layout and the 3,663-pipe Barton organ fostered an atmosphere of loud, ringing noise. In the '71 Stanley Cup semis, when the Blackhawks scored an empty-net Game 7 goal against the New York Rangers, CBS announcer Dan Kelly reported, "I can feel our broadcast booth shaking! That's the kind of place Chicago Stadium is right now!"
