Perhaps no NFL quarterback had a more legendary performance than the Baltimore Colts’ Johnny “The Golden Arm” Unitas in the 1958 NFL Championship game. Down 17-14 with two minutes to play, Unitas took over at his own 14-yard line and marched the Colts 62 yards en route to a game-tying field goal.

Unitas completed 26 of 40 passes for 349 yards and one touchdown as the Colts defeated the New York Giants in sudden-death overtime. Over 45 million people watched NBC’s broadcast of the game, which remains the only NFL Championship ever decided in overtime.
