    The Story
You hold in your hands a tribute to the 1962-63 Loyola University Ramblers, a team which ushered in a new era of racial equality in college basketball. In an era when no team would play more than three African American players at a time, Coach George Ireland’s teams played as many as four.

Heading into the NCAA tournament, Loyola held a 24-2 record and averaged a national-best 94 points per game. Loyola faced an all-white Mississippi State team in the regional semifinal, and despite protests from the governor and state police of Mississippi, the game went ahead as planned. Loyola beat Mississippi State and, in the Final Four, Duke, en route to the championship game. Facing the top-ranked University of Cincinnati, Loyola started four African-American players; Cincinnati, three. The Ramblers stunned the two-time defending champion Bearcats in the final, winning 60-58 in overtime and changing college basketball forever.

Relive the Ramblers’ thrilling victory with the commemorative T-shirt, poster and DVD box set in a strictly limited edition of 1,963.
