Since the 1975-76 basketball season, the official Illinois student section has been clad in bright orange shirts and been confusing opponents with false shot-clock countdowns. In the late ‘70s, Krush members had to take an Illini trivia quiz to join the group; these days, they need to participate in fundraisers. In 2005, the Orange Krush presented the Jimmy V Foundation with a check for $50,000—the one-millionth dollar donated during the Foundation’s existence.
