During the 1977 World Series, Yankees catcher Thurman Munson declined an interview, suggesting that his teammate Reggie Jackson, because of his past postseason heroics, would be a better interview subject. "Go ask Mr. October," Munson demurred, giving Jackson a nickname that would stick. Jackson hit home runs in Game 4 and Game 5 of the Series, but with his three-home-run performance in the Series-clinching Game 6, Reggie became the first player to win the World Series MVP award for two different teams. In 27 career World Series games, he hit 10 home runs and amassed 24 RBI with a .357 batting average.
