The premier address for success is Victory Parkway, Cincinnati. Your Musketeer men’s basketball team has been blowing out the Big East as 10-time conference tournament champs in addition to becoming a perennial entry in the NCAA Tournament—24 appearances in the last 32 years alone.
In the last fifteen years, Xavier has been taking things to a new level, making two Elite Eight appearances and another four Sweet Sixteens. Rep the X with our super-soft crewneck, and slide into the Cintas Center ready for another deep tournament run.
Wanna talk records? How about those of a septuagenarian nun who has helped graduate every men’s basketball player who has reached his final year of athletic ability? Since Sister Rose Ann Fleming became the academic adviser for Xavier University athletics in 1985, every men’s basketball player who has played as a senior has left Xavier with a diploma!
Vidit Mirabilia Magna—“he has seen great wonders”—is the official motto of Xavier University, and after years of watching your Musketeers play in the NCAA Tournament, you are well-versed in said wonders. Established in 1831, Xavier is one of the oldest Catholic schools in the nation and has distinguished itself in the Big East conference as a hoops powerhouse.
As for football, the school cut the program short in 1973—hence why you’ve been saying your football program’s been undefeated for more than 30 years. With one of the most academically successful athletic programs in the nation, there’s plenty to be proud of when you’re a Musketeer. Rep the X as your school continues to play above the rim.
Although Xavier has the Blue Blob to keep the crowd smiling, it’s D’Artagnan, the Musketeer, who holds court at the Cintas Center and across Victory Parkway as the official mascot of your school. D’Artagnan was the brainchild of the Reverend Francis Finn, S.J. in 1925 but didn’t debut at a game until 40 years later.
Now one of the main game-day attractions—besides, of course, your men of the hardwood—up to six students land the coveted swashbuckling role each season. While you might not be swinging the sword, that doesn’t mean you can’t rep D’Artagnan proudly. Gear up to give it to ‘em, X!
